 Proper salvage for restoration requires the structure to be dismantled in the reverse order of construction. Once the exterior veneer has been removed, the materials are inspected for quality. The structures component's are then numbered, photographed and rendered to aid in the restoration. Once these steps have been taken, the antique is then ready for harvesting.

Custom restoration involves educated altering to meet the needs and requirements of the customer. Modifications may include ceiling height, cantilevering a second story or modifying openings. These changes may create other necessary alterations to meet building codes, structural loads and design needs.
